anniversary

Apparently this is around about the time It Happened.
Last night there were a bunch of fans hanging out in front of our apartment building taking photos, so Hiroko called the security company to scare them off.
And this morning there were three more, taking photos and preparing to lay flowers.
I went out and scared the living hell out of them. They were so young they could not have been more than 6 years old when It Happened over a decade ago anyway.
So I busted out my best Grumpy Old Man Japanese and gave them the "You are so selfish thinking about nothing but yourself. Normal people live here now; my kids could not sleep last night because of the trouble you and your friends caused. Scared my wife, too. How would you like it if I came at night and took photos of YOUR house? We are trying to live our lives and get on with it, why don't you do the same? Stop thinking about just yourself all the time. Stop causing so much trouble; leave. Now."
I think being told off so forcefully by some random white guy on a Saturday morning was the LAST thing they expected. One girl was most visibly scared, the guy with the camera just looked like I was speaking in tongues and had horns growing out of my forehead, and the other girl must have simply been in shock.
Anyway, GET THE F"#$%K OFF MY LAWN!
