time and patience

Tonchan is slowly grasping the concept of time. This morning she woke up at a decent hour, but before eating she wanted to sit on the couch, on my lap, and watch some TV.
Her favorite words these days are "after" and "later".
For example, a typical conversation goes something like this.
Me: You want to have breakfast? You want cereal? Or udon? Or bread?
Ton: No, papa. After this one [points to TV] ok?

So we sat there. For half an hour.
She refused to move, get up, or eat. My half-eaten cereal bowl was getting soggier and the minutes clicked slowly towards 8am...
Finally managed to get her to the table and she wanted a fresh bowl of udon, so P boiled water and I ran about getting dressed.
She started eating about 8:07am, P shoveling noodles into Ton's gaping maw. No time for hair, I got her changed, brushed her teeth, and trundled her into her boots and out the door.
She is lucky she is cute, otherwise she would really, really piss me off sometimes.

Update: P just texted me and said Ton has a fever and so she's going to pick her up at school. That probably explains why Ton was so grumpy and slow this morning...
